The ‘Pass’ grade in Nigerian universities has been abolished by the National Universities Commission (NUC) with effect from the 2013/ 2014 academic session.
The decision was made known by the Vice Chancellor of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru during the school’s 2014/2015 matriculation ceremony which held yesterday February 4th in Sokoto.
According to Prof Zuru:
“What this means is that the minimum pass mark for courses in the universities will now be 45 per cent, that is, D-grade instead of the previous 40 per cent which was E-grade while the minimum class of grade to be earned by the students will be now be Third Class.”
