Luiz Felipe Scolari has resigned his duties as the head coach of Brazil after falling to win a trophy for the host country.

Brazil recorded their second World Cup defeat in five days. The host country suffered the heaviest loss in semi-final history after they were humiliated by the Winners of the tournament Germany in a 7 – 1 defeat and a 3 – 1 loss to the Netherlands in the third place play-offs.

Brazil became the first country to lose on home soil since 1940.

Although it’s yet to be confirmed, reports from the Brazilian media are reporting that he was sacked.

Scolari was first appointed Manager of Brazil in 2001 but resigned after the 2002 World cup in Korea/Japan before coming back to take up the coaching role in 2012.
