Governorship candidate of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) in Lagos State during the 2007 elections, Jimi Agbaje, has defected to the People Democratic Party (PDP).
Agbaje, who came third in the 2007 race, has been linked with the PDP several times and it is now believed that arrangement have been concluded by the party to field him as its governorship candidate come 2015.
It was gathered that Agbaje formally registered as a PDP member at his ward in Anthony and that his defection to the party will be made formal next week.
However, State Publicity Secretary of PDP, Taofiq Gani, said he is not aware of Agbaje’s defection to the party as there is no concrete evidence to show that he had joined PDP.
Agbaje came into reckoning in 2007 when during a televised debate among aspirants for the Lagos governorship seat, he floored all of them with his brilliance.
