Current World cup champions Spain have lost their second tournament match; this time to Chile.
The match, played on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Estadio do Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro saw the Spanish giant dash any hopes of qualifying for the next round after a 2 – 0 defeat to Chile.
Eduardo Vargas and Charles Aránguiz recorded a two goal lead in the first half to secure the three point needed to qualify Chile for the next round.
The defending champions, who lost their first tournament match against Holland , will play a consolation match against Australia as their final game in the World cup competition.
