A 27-year-old man, Goliath Nyirenda, is serving a 15-year sentence handed to him by a Kabwe High Court for raping a chicken which later died.
The Judge-in-charge, Mwiinde Siavwapa, sentenced Goliath to to 15 years imprisonment for having carnal knowledge of his neighbour’s chicken on November 18, 2012.
The owner of the ‘victim’ had caught Goliath in the act after hearing the abused chicken’s cries and called the police to arrest him.
Delivering the sentence, Justice Siavwapa said he found Goliath’s abnormal act “disgusting and inhuman.”
It is unacceptable for a person in their right frame of mind to have s*x with a chicken, so I therefore sentence you to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour,” Mr Justice Siavwapa said.
Goliath, described as a general worker by a UKZambian’s report, is from Chisamba, a small town located near Chibombo, in the Central Province of Zambia.
