Fire, yesterday, gutted the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) office, located at No.19 Adeola Hopewell Street Victoria Island, Lagos.
It was gathered that properties estimated at millions of naira were reduced to ashes.
According to report from Daily Independent, the outbreak occurred on September 13, where the information technology department of the institute was badly hit in the inferno.
In a press release to the newspaper, Ngozi Braide, Lagos police spokesperson who did not mention the cause of the fire outbreak confirmed the incident.
Sources however alleged that it may have been caused by a power upsurge.
But, Kayoade Adegoke, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Bar Beach police station in Victoria Island, Lagos was said to have mobilized police officers from the station to checkmate security situations at the scene of the fire incident.
