THERE’S still six days to go until Apple’s latest smartphone launch, but fans in the US just can’t wait.

Avid Apple fans are already trying to be the first to grab the new iPhone, even though it’s weeks away from hitting stores.

Geeks in New York are camping out in front of Apple Stores and the device hasn’t been announced yet.

Twitter is now full of images of people desperately waiting for this latest gadget.

MacTrast posted this image with the words, “Want to be 1st in line for iPhone 6 at 5th Avenue Apple Store? You are WAY too late!

The next generation iPhone will get its grand unveiling on Tuesday 9th of September in San Francisco.

Apple look set to give the device a radical overhaul, including a larger display and indestructible screen.

The event kicks off from 6pm UK time and we’ll have all the news as it happens.

And if you fancy waiting outside a UK Apple Store to get your hands on one first, we’d take plenty of tea and biscuits.

We’re not expecting the device to go sale until later in September.
