Lampard Joins Man City On 6-Months Loan

England International, Frank Lampard has joined Manchester City ahead of his debut season with affiliate club New York City.

The 36-year-old represented Chelsea for 13 years before he left for the United States but will now have to produce a first class professional attitude to stay focus at the Etihad as most Chelsea fans will not be comfortable with the idea of Lampard playing against them when both side clash on Sunday, September 21.

Lampard said in a statement on the Manchester City website: “Joining up with Manchester City is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to train and play at the top level and make sure I am in top condition for New York City.

“It has been an amazing few days for me since the unveiling in Brooklyn and everyone connected with both clubs has been fantastic to me. This is a new chapter of my career and I’m really excited about the experience.

“I met Manuel and some of the players in New York and I’m looking forward to getting into training and making a contribution for Manchester City ahead of my move over to New York.”

Lampard will train with his Manchester City colleagues this morning (Wednesday) for the first time and will be registered to the club in both the English Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
